Josh started J.E. FOSTER BUILDING COMPANY in August of 1997 after working for 5 years for McCarthy out of their St. Louis office. He was born and raised in Bedford, New Hampshire. Josh graduated with a BS in Architectural Engineering from the University of Miami in 1988. Following college, he went to work as a Project Engineer for a General Contractor in New Hampshire working on a Parking Garage, small Cogeneration Power Plant and a Retirement Community. Josh then traveled with a National Heavy Industrial GC as a Project Engineer building a Paper Mill for Champion Paper, a Steel Mill for Inland Steel and a large Power Plant for TVA. In 1993, Josh joined St. Louis based GC-McCarthy as a Superintendent and Project Manager at Washington University. He completed the new Student Union – Bookstore, the Washington University School of Law and the renovation of Brookings Hall. Josh has grown J.E. FOSTER BUILDING COMPANY from a one person operation to over thirty employees with $12 to $18 million in yearly revenue. Josh was awarded the Best GC Employee by the Midwest Council of the ASA in 2007. He is presently serving a two year term on the AGC of St. Louis’ Board of Directors through 2012. Josh’s goal has never been to be the largest GC but to always strive to be the best. He enjoys being close to the work and is personally familiar with every project that J.E. FOSTER BULDING COMPANY completes. Josh is married with two children, enjoys his family, skiing, golfing and resides in Kirkwood, MO.
